About MCA
Midlothian Community Action (MCA) provides support, guidance, and representation for third sector organisations working in Midlothian. This includes grassroots community groups, charities, and social enterprises.
Midlothian Community Action is the Third Sector Interface (TSI) for Midlothian.
In this section:
In our role as a TSI, MCA provides the third sector with a single point of access for support and are the main point of contact for the Scottish Government on third sector issues in Midlothian. There is a TSI in every local authority area in Scotland. TSI’s receive core funding from the Scottish Government but are also reliant upon income from a range of other public bodies and funders.
Midlothian Community Action was originally a partnership between two organisations – Midlothian Voluntary Action and Volunteer Midlothian, working under the umbrella of Midlothian Third Sector Interface. As of April 1 2025, the two organisations have merged. MCA can now work more effectively together for a stronger, fairer, and more equitable Midlothian with a thriving Third Sector at its heart.
As an employer, Midlothian Community Action is committed to the Principles of Fair Work.
